Instead of getting my 200 Metric P.O.S. The shop told me to find a junkyard Th350 and they'll rebuild it and throw it in for the same price as rebuilding the 200 ($385.)

DO I need the long or short shaft 350? Are they all geared the same?

You need the short shaft. Yes they are geared different. Not sure which one is better.

it would be more expensive but now is the time to consider getting a 200-r4. you would need a TV cable and bracket, trans mount, TCC lockup circuitry, and a crossmember. this will give you overdrive and a lockup converter adding fuel mileage. and it has a 2.74 first gear which isn't too shabby, especially if you upgrade the rear too.

I was wanting to do the 200r4 but realistically I would have had to wait another 6 months to save up the money/time to swap the 200r4 and the transmission is about gone now. Having a non moving car at this point is not an option.

This is just a weekend around town car...I have a Mercedes Diesel for a daily driver and I ride my Motorcycle almost every day.

Realistically the car will only see the interstate more than one exit maybe 2-3 times a year.

At this point I'd rather have it running and driving with the TH350 and be able to put more money towards shocks, springs, interior work, a new rear end, and body work..

i can definately agree with that.

Well, after buying my car sight unseen as a 305/ th350 car I have received it as a 307 / metric 200 car.

The motor is freshly rebuilt, but is a 307.

The transmission is toast.....

The body is rust free, and other than needing a new door (I have door) and paint(in primer) is in decent shape.

WHat are my options for a transmission now? Will anything swap in?

I'm extremely pissed at being lied to but I paid almost nothing for the car, not sure weather I'm going to put a transmission in it and drive the hell out of it or part it out and crush it.

You have to find a trans with Buick Olds Pontiac(bop) bolt pattern. You would have to get one from one of those engine manufactuers. I also believe a 200r4 has a multi-bolt pattern that will fit chevy or bop.
