I have the 8.8 rear swap in my wagon that left no room for pipes to go through so i have 2.5 pipe with magnaflow's dumped before the rear turned to the side and down some.I HATE the vibration and drone at some speeds under 40.cruising sounds great. My question is,will a cheaper muffler fix the drone or is it possible to remove it all the way since they are dumped?

Ha ha, I thought I was just having a problem because I don't have any carpeting. You could probably eliminate some of the noise with quieter mufflers. I'm running Thrush Super Turbos, they're not generally that loud, actually kind of quiet from the outside, I have the tips positioned exactly how you described, but they're pretty loud from the inside, again, without carpeting. If I get the carpeting in before you make a change, I can let you know what they sound like then.

I've had dual Super Turbo mufflers on my car when my exhaust system was first installed. I couldn't take the drone anymore, so I went with 2.5" Walker universal mufflers. It quieted it down dramatically. It might have hurt the performance slightly, but who cares? The car is a cruiser, not a track star.
The exhaust does go all the way back just past the rear wheels.

I LOVE the magnaflow sound and would love to keep them..but that drone just annoys me to where i dont even enjoy driving it.Wonder if i pushed them out to the front of the rear tire?

What's taking up the room so that you can't have tailpipes over the axle?
I have a 9" with 4" tailpipes over the axle on my Monte.

I was thinking about this too, an L pipe to exit at the side. The thing is, unless it came out flush with the side of the car, I'd probably still want a turn-down, which might continue the problem of sound bouncing off the ground.

Wow, I defintely didn't see that coming, that (assuming homemade) mount for your mounting ears definetly takes up the spot for tailpipes so that's obviously not an option.
Now before I made tailpipes I made turndowns but I had them band clamped so I could change the position on them,I tried aiming them to quiet it down and I tried a few different positions and ended up as pictured.
You might still have to by different mufflers but I would set the dumps up so you can try different angles.

So you have no drone or vibrations etc going on with that set up? Mine is just about identical

No. I didn't have any drone it was just pretty loud since the rest of my exhaust is 4-1/2" and I am using 2 chamber Flowmaster 4-1/2" race mufflers but I also made a balance tube from the get go so maybe that would help.
