I was wondering if anyone knows if 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix Radiator Cooling Fans are any good for use with a sbc? I have a chance to get a radiator and fan assembly dirt cheap right now.I figure Ill just use 1 fan on each side 1pushing and 1 pulling. Thats only if the fans are too wide for my radiator.

they should be more than enough, but set them up as pictured and make a cheap shroud. don't bother with pusher fans. they are much less efficient and should only be used on something like a corvair where there isn't enough room for a puller.

Ok. I just picked it up and at first I thought the radiator would be too wide but its actually alright. Do you think the grand prix radiator would be efficient?

the radiator i can't speak for without seeing it in person, but if it's the same overall dimensions it may work well.

the radiator is in really good shape. still nice and grey/ silver. it isnt rusted or rotted. the dimensions are very close. What about a controller unit do i have to buy a certain kind since the fans each have their own wires?

IMO, i think this set up isn't going to cut it for a sbc, since it was made for a v-6 that ran at an operating temp close to 220+, so with you motor you may be running real close to 270-280, but you will never know untill you try it, so before you go buying fan controller and all that temp install it and hook it directly to the battery and see where your car temp is at after about a 30 minute idle if the temp is more than 230, i would get another set up
