I have a 1987 cutlass brougham in the process of rally swap. the "how to/step by step procedure" is what I am using to do this, does the oil sending unit go by the distributer or driver side of the engine? and can i rune a wire with a terminal on the end for my coolant temp? thanks for help

What motor are you running?

If it's an Olds motor, the oil pressure sender is located above the timing cover, inbetween the water pump and intake manifold.

If it's a Chevy motor, they could either be by the distributor, or above the oil filter. If you run headers, it's best to have it by the distributor.

Its a SBC 87-95 center bolt valve covers, i have 2 oil sensors one by the distributer and a big one by the headers driver side. also can i just hook up the coolant temp sensor and and run a new wire from sensor to terminal behing gauges? coolant temp sensor there just never hooked up

The answer to your question is yes, you can just put a terminal lug on the end of the wire and plug it in. That sensor can also be moved if you so desired to the intake manifold, though most people keep it below the headers on the drivers side.

The big one on the drivers side by the header sounds like where the coolant temp sending unit would go. It's right between the primaries for cylinders 1 and 3.
