Rally Pac Gauge Swap

I have an '88 Cutlass with the factory sweep speedo. I'm looking to swap to a Rally Pac out of a 78-80 that a member has for sale on here. I have added aftermarket water, oil, and volts gauges (also a tach) and was wondering If I could use the wiring and sending units from these. I found the article on swapping wires and such on the pin connectors in the dashboard.

GM sending units were engineered to work with GM gauges. If you using aftermarket gauges they may come with a sending unit specific to that gauge and may not read accurate. You can measure and compare impedance or check the gauge specs and compare to verify.

In theory I should be able to get the correct GM sending units, put them on my 350 and it'll be good to go?
