Hello everyone,

Just in need of some honest advise, I currently own a 1981 Chevy Malibu Landau and for the past 3 years now have not done anything to it but let it sit since I do not have the time or money to finish it up because of a new home purchase, children, work, etc. I love my car so much and know I will regret selling it but at the same time I am a realistic person and it stresses me out to see it and not being able to do anything to it for the time being. I know I can try to do things here and there but that's time and money which I lack. I don't really do a lot of things myself because I do not know how so most of the time I pay. What do you guys suggest I do?

I see you've been a member for awhile now but first post...welcome!

I would say if the car isn't costing you anything and you've got a place to keep it out of the weather...personally I'd hang on to it. Sounds like you'd regret letting it go. On the other side I can understand not wanting to let it sit.

I made the mistake of selling the one in my signature quite a few years ago....I often regret letting it go.

It's good you're being realistic. Is the car inside or outside? If inside and you can let it sit, then keep it. If outside, get rid of it before it rots away.

Keep and fix it up. I started my project a long time ago and I’m still not done. I also bought a home and I pay $1000 a month in child support but I still find a way to save money and buy parts and work on it. Don’t get rid of it. You’ll regret it

If you can keep it parked on a well-drained surface that does not cost money, keep the car. Spend $45 a year on a decent car cover to protect the interior and help keep rain out of the usual pockets. There's a finite number of these in the world. Hold onto it if you can.

Man I have been in the same boat. Dont know how old your children are but I found after the youngest gets to about 3 years old you can sort of get back to your life again.

Thank you for your prompt response, my children are 13,12 and 5 but I think the issue here is the time and of course the money since it's an expensive hobby.

That's what I don't want, regret, regret, regret later on, it's a very sought for car, not like the Grand National but I feel people like it more than other G Bodies.
