As springtime approaches, and hopefully my motor will be done, and car running later in the year, I am growing really curious as to what my car will be like.

I know I will be changing at least my rear gear (I haven't physically verified it) because my rear is supposed to be 2:42 (or right there close don't remember exactly right now), as the car originall came with the 200-4R and someone changed to 200c (!) but I am really wondering how the car will intially perform.

As some of you remember, I am building a 1966 330. It was the factory hi-comp 320 hp version.
I am still able to use the stock forged crank, and rods. They were cleaned up at the machine shop. ARP bolts, and resized for the rods. Block bored .020", new Egge pistons, Engle JM-22-25 cam ( 0.512 0.523, 274°/280°duration, 230° 236°@.050", 108°lobe center, 1400-6000rpm), custom built 200-4R, Grand National convertor, Performer RPM intake, Edlebrock 750 ( think I should have gotten a 600 though....), Accel Street/Strip billet distributor, MSD 6AL box, heads and intake match ported, polished, heads milled flat, rotating assy balanced, align hone bored, springs/pushrods/roller tip rockers for the valvetrain, 3 angle valve job. Sure that I am leaving something out.
I think the heads have 60cc chambers (can't remember that either right now, but is close).

I just wonder if any of you guys can picture how this thing is going to do..............

I think it should do pretty well, even better with a set of 3:73's.............
Anyone care to venture a guess?

I'm gonna guess 12's to 13's but could be off. Either way, it sounds like it will be a very fun car.

I hope so..............been going on 3 years scrimping and saving, and trying to find time.

I wanted something different (as I think we all do) and still be Olds powered, but go a little bit different route.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Assuming headers with good timeing and carberation above stats with 3.73s and say 26" drag radials. Oh yea say 3,700 pounds with driver 13.0 to 13.2 at about 104 mph. Maybe 340ish HP & 360TQ. More cam, torque converter & gear could get you into the 12s but it would not be as fun to drive. Well I mean beyond hot rodding down the street the first time or two.

Somebody on realoldspower.com could probably guess better as they may have hands on experience with the 330, cam, torque converter, & gears.

I am thinking the rear is a little better than what the RPO states. As I said, someone changed to a different transmission. To a 200C from a 200-4R. Might have been the only thing they could find, and put the B&M ratchet shifter in it, but I don't know.

Might be the gearing of the 200C, and not a different rear but the old peg leg and the 307 would shred that tire........

I was hoping that the cam and matching valvetrain wouldn't be too much for the street. I want it to perform, but was afraid I might have to put a vacuum booster on it. By the responses here, I don't think I will have to worry about that. But considering the hp and torque of the 307, the 333 should double the hp and greatly increase the torque the car was used to! 😛

I would say triple the h.p. the 307 realistically had at the time you pulled it out
