Can anyone shed some light on where the round spacer is supposed to go on the rear lower shock mount of a 7.5 rear end? Does it go on the side of the lower control arm bracket that is closer to the front of the car or rear of the car?

This is how it looks on the 8.5 that is currently under there but I'm 99% sure when I took the 7.5 apart that is getting swapped in the spacer was on the opposite side... Is it different from 7.5 to 8.5?

My 79 Monte Carlo has the spacer between the shock and the lower mount then a lock washer and nut facing forward.

It definitely goes between the shock and mounting bracket.

Sounds good, thanks. Not sure how that one ended up backwards, guess its a good thing its coming out.

Thanks, those are cheap enough that I may as well grab a couple to compare them. Looks very similar to the ones that come with the kyb shocks. Tempted to just use those but they don't accommodate the use of the spacer and I'm not really sure how important the spacer is. I'm sure it's there for a reason but I've also clearly been driving a car that effectively doesn't have it with no noticeable adverse effects lol.
