I stopped by my local junk yard today looking for a rear bumper for my 83 cutlass.

my car has a vinyl top, and I was thinking about eventually taking it off, getting to the point, there is a set of the rear window chrome trim on one of the cutlasses there, and I was wondering how to get it off.

I think there are just those plastic clips holding it on. do I just have to break those?? how do i get the trim off without bending it?? help!!

also does anybody know where I could get a rust free and dent free bumper for a reasonable pice?

Thanks!!

Also there is a 83ish buick (regal, i think) at that same junkyard for $750 it looks to be in pretty descent shape. i didn't have a chance to look at it that much. i will get the phone number if anybody is interested. no parts have been taken from it.

i was looking today and pulled some trim pieces off and noticed they were clipped on from the inside with little tabs. my regal does not have any of them at all. how do i get the rear window trim pieces on?

I just pulled a piece of rear trim off the bottom of the rear window on a cutlass at the junkyard to replace my cloudy chrome trim. It was held on by metal clips. I pulled the trim up from the bottom towards the window and pushed down on the flat part of the trim at the same time and the clips let go one by one. seemed to work okay, didn't bend. Haven't replaced the old piece yet though.
