So I pretty much decided I want to do a Regal for my next project, but most of the Regals I have seen for sale have the front and rear bumper fillers missing or broken and I know this is a very common problem and of coarse I also know there is aftermarket support to replace these.
So my question is occasionally I see a Regal with perfect factory originals and I am wondering is there a way to preserve these or will they all eventually break over time no matter what.
I don't want to get the car painted just to have the factory ones break later on when I could have replaced them first.

That is a great question wish I had some answers I'm going to add to it if that's ok. Does anyone know of an old school cheap way to replace these fillers. 200 plus dollars for some cheap rubbery plastic inserts seems a bit high.

Likely the "perfect" ones have been replaced sometime in the past there is no real way to preserve the fillers other than keep them out of the weather.
The only cheap way to fix these is to find a set in the salvage yard and that is next to impossible. There is fiberglass fillers or if you can weld make up a pair of metal fillers.

I replaced mine with fiberglass ones so they never warp or rip again. As for factory originals in great condition they are garage queens. If it is exposed to the weather and sun they will eventually warp, crack, shrink or all of the above over time.

That it what I was thinking and since I plan on this being more of a daily driver/cruiser kind of build in comparision to my Monte it will be outside in the elements that much more.
Maybe I can sell the originals on Ebay for a ridiculous amount of money.

Mine all cracked up just sitting on the car in the garage while being stored the last few years. I replaced them with fiberglass ones for about $300. They fit almost almost perfect and weren't too bad to install.

They sell polyurethane replacements that don't break or wear but are expensive! I found all four replacements on dankoreproductions.com for $200.00
