remote mirror

I know this has more thank likely been asked. I have a 79 gp with both LH & RH remote mirrors driverside works fine. passenger side will not move. I want to take it apart since car is old and paint is original to replace the inner guts and cable assy from a donor mirror to my original housing. is this possible to do or should I just leave it alone?

Those cables are staked into the remote knob housing. Easier to replace the whole thing.

Yeah kind of figured because it looks quite difficult to get the glass out of the housing

After you get it off the car, soak the cables with WD40 or similar penetrant, usually frees them up. May take several applications

I will try that, have plenty of WD 40, who knows may work
