Starting a new project, a ProStart. Wondering if you guys have any tips/tricks for me to try out. I'm solving the carb issue by using a trunk release solenoid and a cable on the throttle, connected to the trunk release on the remote, so I can prime then start  , and I'm just gonna have parking lights come on, and the horn beep when I lock the doors. Just gonna head out and pick up some relays at the store and a trunk release (or 2) from the junkyard. Pretty much looking for recommendations or personal experiences, since I've never done a remote start before.

Re: Remote Start

Never done it on a carb. Hopefully your trick worked. Otherwise you'll hqve to start it up the old fashioned way. Good luck on the idea.

Re: Remote Start

So far all I've done is made a trip to the audio store for relays, junkyard for solenoids (got 2 in case I **** up), and local bike store for cable and stuff. Then I established that I need some more brackets from the bike store, I'll be putting some pics up this weekend

How did it turn out?

I am also interested on any pics of the install on the carb. I want remote start but it is pointless if I have to get in the car and give her a pump. If the install is refined and not too bulky looking I may have to give it a go. 😀

Your malibu is clean as hell!!!

This is a random thought i had so if its dumb my bad im new to carbs soon to be swapping a carb. 1990 350 and living where i live it would be nice..but how about first wire up something to the starter, then tapping into the fuel line or its own line with an electric pump to your carb. a small reserve fuel tank?! hell I dont know if its a good idea or not but ay it might get you started :|

what yall think?!

Got her all done, hit the power and the solenoid doesn't have enough power! Gonna do some more experimenting when I have time. I either need a solenoid that has way more power than 25 watts, or a new plan.

Damn I wish I could find the pics. But I had a buddy about 10 years ago that had a Ford Taurus or Tempo. It had command start and a carb. What I can remember is it had something that looked similar a cruise control diaphragm that it used to pump the gas.
