Removing Landau moldings for painting

I would like to paint my Landau moldings and would like to know how to remove them. I've tried prying and have factory service manuals. Last resort, ask for advice. Just dont want to force "break" anything.

Push them side to side to get them to roll off the clips.
They're 30 year old plastic, so don't be suprised if a bunch of the clips break...
