Repainting steering column

Can anyone tell me what kind and shade of black paint will get me closest to the original black GM used? I found a tilt column for my car, but someone had painted it to match their interior. Also where is the best place to get a new column to firewall seal? Thanks

How does the SEM stuff work on metal surfaces?

I had a friend just shoot mine with some automotive semi-gloss black. Turned out really nice.

I can't find that seal either. But SEM has 3 types of black, gloss, semi, and flat. Works on metal and plastic.

You can get the firewall seal from Mike's Monte's.

I bought one new from him and used it on my column. Worked fine.

I used that stuff to paint the exterior vinyl top trim and it has held up great.
