Thanks

If you have never restored a car I will give my advice. I have been restoring/building cars for 25 years. Purchase just about everything first. This way you can move it around. Get a bunch of big plastic totes to put parts in. I use a Sharpie on my totes designating engine, engine compartment, interior, trunk area, etc. Get zip lock bags and in the craft department at Walmart, get a bunch of different sized craft bags that are just mini zip locks. Put your screws, nuts, bolts, etc. in them. Take lots of pics but just in case you lose your pics take notes. If a part is pretty complex, I'll draw it and label it on a piece of paper and put it in the baggie or tote with that part. I also will do short videos because my memory is getting bad. If you are going to sub out the body/paint work, you'll be shocked. Paint jobs are high now days especially if rust repair is involved. Read some of the big build threads here. You can pick up some ideas. Don't be afraid to try anything yourself. There's lots of youtube vids, Google, and forums to give you all the help you need. Not as much reproduction stuff for Cutlasses as there is Monte Carlo and Grand National. Lots of stuff interchanges though

I don't know what parts interchange with other gbodies, so I'd do like above and save everything. You might find yourself having to restore parts...media blasting, painting, etc...

Places to buy parts:
gbodyparts.com
mikesmontes.com
www.opgi.com/

I'll echo everything that has been said but I recommend you have a reason to do it because it won't be cheap, easy, or a money maker if you choose to sell. Now maybe in 10 more years.....

We do are G-bodys because we like them no other reason. I'll be doing my daughter's 79 Hurst Olds not because it's worth something because she likes it and it was my daily driver 20+ years ago I'm going to spend more on it than it's worth but I don't think she will ever sell it anyway. I think that that's what wraith is trying to say

Thanks for the info I started on this olds in 2008 had 403 small block built with the stud girdles and all the stuff to toughen the motor. I brought home from motor rebuild and took out the interior and took the chassis to a highly rated paint shop for redoing. I'm sad to say I finally had to get it and bring it home today after 8 years of setting. I had the original 307 rebuilt. This is where i need some help. Should I put the 307 back in it or run the 403?

Thanks
