Hello guys, I need some advice in how to restore interior trims on a Malibu that I have. My trims are faded and dried out by the sun. I tried sanding the trims up to the sun damage area is observed trying to preserve the Good area. Then I painted the trim, but as you can see there are pitted areas that are visible.... What am I doing wrong??

It is what it is. The sun pretty much cooked the plastic. It happens to a lot of older cars. You can either get new trim or just leave it be. Sometimes they get so bad they break like eggshells. If thats not the case Id say its ok.
