i recently got a set of olds high back buckets for my regal, and included in the deal were new-to-me covers, which were not torn and have minimal sunfading unlike the current covers. im planning on recovering the seats myself. i got the old covers off, and i have the hog rings and pliers. the new covers seem like the need to be stretched or steamed or something, from being press- folded into the box they were in, any ideas on that? any other tips for reupholstering seats for the first time? all tips appriciated.

go to youtube for pui seat recovering and there a vids on how to do so. DO NOT TRY TO RING THEM WITH THE STEEL BACKS ON. THey are what is referred to as a floating seat backs.

can i throw the seat covers in the dryer for a few minutes to try to get the wrinkles out of them or will i ruin them? they have vinyl on them but they are mostly cloth.

I have a picture of Toby recovering Oldsmobile seats some where. I would just be afraid of retaliatory picture he would post ;
This is the link for Buick seats. I have not seen them do one for the Oldsmobiles.

you can, throw them in with a wet bath towell on low hea, they should come out. DO not use a steam iron. It will melt the cords, and or fabric
