I am looking to rewire my grand prix. Has anyone done this here? I'm looking for some advise and what wiring kits people have used.

What are you looking to rewire? Body, engine, etc etc... Nobody that i know carries any GP specific wiring harnesses. :?

An 18 circuit Painless setup is the way to go if you want to rewire the entire car

Any particular reason for the rewire :?:

I want to rewire the engine. I want to do it to clean everything up under the hood. It already has a 350 swapped in but I want to get rid of all the smog stuff and the computer. The car has wires just going nowhere.

On the the passenger side is the computer harness you can remove and get rid of most of the wires. On the drivers side is a another harness that has everything for the guages if you have them and starting and charging system. Should be pretty simple. Some wires are joined but you should be able to separate them. I think those are for for the A/C system IIRC...

Use a thinner or brake clean on a rag (or some thing like) and clean your old wiring that comes from the junction block under the wiper motor. Go to your local auto parts store and get some nice new wire loom and just reroute your existing wiring.

Like 85GPLef41 said, the harness on the passenger side can be completely removed

not bad at all you might have to remove the plastic inner fender to gain access. Some advise though don't butcher it cuz you may need it later or somebody else might need it. Lately alot of cars around here are for sale being as they cannot pass emissions after being forced to get e tests... most of the owners ripped everything out and tossed away the parts... :|

The only way to really save that wiring harness would be a make a clean even cut in the harness and pull the wires into the car from the lower kick panel area. This will let you retain the factory connectors on both end of the harness
