Road Trip from Ontario Canada To Los Angeles

I'm really considering doing this trip before I rip out my 3.8 to drop in the new engine what ever it is.... My 3.8 only has 56, Km's whats some things I should do to the car before going on a journey of this calibure? Has anyone ever drove that far in there old *ss Gbody.

And anyone In LA wanna meet up for a show or something I'd love to see a real LA lowrider or Gbody meet mabey some of the 80's babies guys would know??????


Oh and on my way home I wanna do some vanashing point in the desert .. haha I know I know my Cutlass isnt a Challanger but at least I'm in the spirit.

I highly recommend you watch a couple of "drag week" youtube videos, and the video of the Roadkill episode where they replace the old engine in the camino.


Before you take a stab on that trip, maybe try driving a few local road trips to get to trust the car.

I have watched quite a few RoadKill episodes. I've also done a few road trips more local from Toronto to Kingston. I think a good tuneup and a jug of Oil and some coolant and the 3.8 would make it to russia and back. I wouldnt even need to put Oil in but just incase.

Unless you have been here before and know more or less how to navigate around THEE CITY id say fly in to L.A.X and get a feel for the lifestyle BEFORE you attempt the "road trip" :wink: (just keeping it real)I would hate to hear something negative happened to you or your cutty.good Luck and best wishes!!!

Lmao I've watched Boys in the Hood before and Colours. I dunno I dont think I'd roll into south central with my Cutlass but around the more safe areas.

Is the Bloods and the Crips still going strong in those areas or is that more of a 90's era thing that has died down. I've heard the Mexican's have larger gangs now.

Either way I want to go see a Lakers game.

I've waited a LONG time for this(clippers sweeping the FAKERS)and my girl is taking me for the next game for valentines!!!(mother -in-law is the mayors assistant for the city of inglewood, so BOX SEATS!!!)either or have fun,and the WEST is where it's at!!! Be sure to check out venice beach,and if you do decide on the road trip,be sure to take a cruise up pch(pacific coast highway) :|

L.A. is great but like the previous poster said, if you're coming in a clean Cutlass make sure you take extra precautions. When I was there I didn't run into any issues and I mainly hung out with people on the lowrider scene but its all in how you carry yourself. It's a big plus if you had someone trustworthy to show you around. I was stationed in 29 Palms, CA and alot of my Marine buddies were from L.A. so I had plenty of trustworthy friends to guide me. Also alot the lowriding guys are really cool people, I'm from the Deep South where lowriding isn't that big but I've always liked lowrider and I've been a member on a lowrider forum for 11 years so I had plenty of contacts before I made it to L.A. to check out the hops or just cruising with friends.

I've been with the Lakers for a long time 8) Magic Johnson being the main reason.. I'm also glad to see the Clippers doing very well they are breaking records this year for sure. But I'm also pissed that David Stern Blocked the Chris Paul trade to the lakers we basicly lost Odom for nothing in that sh*t

I think its time to trade Pau Gasol for Rudy Gay and trade artest for another decent PF like a Kenith Faried.

Im planning a trip from Vancouver to Montreal + New York when I finish, hopefully summer 2014. Keep writing down places and sights to see, It's a looooong way. Be sure to take someone tolerable with you lol! I would be terrified to park in LA though.
