I've been away from the forums lately due to alot of work for college, but I've been trying to keep on whats up.

I dunno if any of you guys have tried/use Royal purple, but it has performed miracles in my cutlass. My gas mileage gets better every time I drive it, there is a noticeably high increase in acceleration, horsepower, and torque, the engine runs way cooler, and its a tad less rpm at highway speeds. Its worth its $7 a quart imo. Any of you guys used it?

I'll never use it after seeing whut it does to engines.
Just my .02 it makes a mess out of the valve train with sludge.
3 times quicker than conventional oil.
I run 20 50 in everything with a piston.
Hit up google about it you'll find some horror stories assosiated royal purple.

But I mean if your enjoying it, Dont change by any means.

Buy Super Tech Synthetic at Wallymart....best buy. Won't be paying for those big glossy ads in the car mags. Who did you think was paying for them???

I think Mobil One synthetic does just as good a job, and cheaper when bought in 5 qt jugs at Walmart. I have used both and I think they are just about equal.

Shell rotell(i think its spelled like that) is my favorite oil hands down, it is a diesel oil but.. that is better to run because of the detergents in it.

I use Mobil 1 in my cars, but have heard good things about Shell's Rotella T as well. Rotella T was designed as a diesel engine oil for big rigs, and as such has a better detergent package. I think it also may have more ZDDP in it to work well with flat tappet camshafts, but it may be another brand. As for Royal Purple, it's a bit pricey for my taste and needs. I do an oil change every month and it just doesn't seem worth it-especially when I have seen 287,800 miles on the engine using Mobil 1.
