Hi guys..........I have a question about an RPO CODE from my 87 Salon. I have a D88 (Decal Stripe, Sport) code listed. The car doesn't have any stripes on it now, either by repaint or by removal of the stripe. Am I to assume it was a pinstripe (the only non-Hurst or 442 stripes I have seen), or do you know of any other factory stripes that would have been offered in 87?

Many thanks to all of you who have unknowingly furthered my love and knowledge of G-Bodies..........I love this place.

I have an 86 cutlass salon with the D88 rpo.I have another rpo that states the following-55A,stripe color, accent Gold (91).I believe your cutlass had these pinstripes on the car and was taken off and never put back on after repaint. These pinstripes were available in a couple colors like white, black, light chestnut, dark teal blue, burgundy, gray, red, brown and gold. The rpo for any pinstripe in my color chip folder says the rpo for pinstripes is D90.Look on your rpo code listing around 55 for the color.
Hope this helps

I've got an '88 Cutlass Classic, it's stripe RPO is:
D90 - STRIPE, FRT END, BODY SIDE
(and the colour RPO 19A - STRIPE COLOR, ACCENT, TWO TONE, MED GRAY MET/BLACK)

For interests sake, what is the difference between the D88 "Sport" stripe and the D90?

Thanks for the help.

I will need to dig further into the rest of the codes I have, to be sure.

It actually came with the 200-4R, but has the 200C in it, for some reason with a ratchet shifter. I have a 200-4R built by Kozek (Richmond, KY) to go back in with a LOKAR shifter, behind my 1966 Olds 333 (330 bored).

Does have the F41 package though.

cutlass salons came standard with the f41 suspension and a special quick ratio steering box, unique to salons and 442s.on the plus side, salons of any year (85,86,87) werent mass produced, maybe an estimated 3,500 that werent 442 salons were made each year, makes these cars all the more rarer than the average supreme or calias
