hey guys i have an 84 lesabre with a olds 307, heres my problem one day my girlfriend plugged a curling iron into a power invertor in the cig lighter, heres what happened, the curler worked for 2 mins then it seemed like it blew a fuse , it stopped working, before this i used the inverter all the time no problems, after this curling iron then my engine seemed like it was running out of gas, i put it in park ran fine, reverse ran perfect then when you put it in drive it wants to bogs out even when you hit the gas it seems like its running on 2 plugs, but when you hold down the brake pedal just enough to light up thew rear lights the car runs perfect, so here it is again, runs perfect in park & reverse bogs out in drive, but if you hold down the brake pedal enough to light up the rear brakellights its perfect i checked wires everywhere and pulled out fuses for the cig lighter and still have the problem, i am a body man / mechanic and im stumped as well as everyone i know and a few shops have shaken their head at this too, let me know if you got any possible solutions thanks in advance i gotta get this boy back on the road!

Wow!! Did ya check all the grounds under the hood? There's some on the right rear side of the intake, years ago I had a car doin something similar. (xpt for the brake light thing) Good luck.

It sounds like a tcc thing.. like the converter is trying to lock up by stepping on the brake pedal it releases it just like normal driving mode. To test this theory reach under the drvers side bout where u sit just above the shift linkage is a four prong plug, unplug it and thats if the car act normals then you need a new tcc solenoid or 4 gear pressuerew switch, if not then I cant help u good luck
PS tell your girlfriend to be ready when you come get her.... 8)

Check vacuum line from transmission to carb/intake?
