Just picked up a steering gear box at junkyard. Came off a 84 what looked to be a SS had a few decal lines left. I bought it cause it has a up raised stamp on the top of the box by the 4 bolts that looks like a S Curve that you would see on the side of highway a car going thru an S curve slalom. On bottom it has a big 9 and 2. Also another raised s-curve picture on the bottom. Stamped numbers case are 7826692 and it has 26 spline and has o-ring metric type 16 and 18 lines. It has the right pitman arm on it cause it was in working order when I pulled it. Guessing its a performance one. Impulse buy! Never seen one before. Anyone Know What This Box Is?
I HAVE A FEW PICS BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO LOAD THEM.
Trying to put this on my 79 elcamino with standard lines 5/8 and 11/16. Need a little help? Scary to drive at the moment.

I need Autozone, Oriely, Napa, CarQuest part numbers for the metric to standard adapters? Who ever lol.
Also needing to know if I need the steering shaft off the donor car before it gets smashed I didnt grab it.
Wanna try to get this done this weekend 5-1-14>5-3-14

Sounds like a Saginaw logo, a longtime manufacturer of steering boxes and manual transmissions. Look like this?
