They are made for the A-body. Anyone try these on a G-body? They claim to have a no gasket seal to the head. $355.00 from Sanderson + s/h.

I have the O351 on my current 350 and previous 403. They fit great with B body mounts, no massaging necessary. The fuel and brake lines are close to the collectors but don't touch. I had the O350 on my 4x4, too tight and put on he O351 on them. I wish they had pre bent down pipes for our cars. The angle collectors should allow very tight pipe routing. I will be taking mine in for a custom front half in the spring. My cobbled exhaust sucks.

That's what i thought. Close to the lines. I kinda see it. My real concern was clearing the early factory starter though.

Had to send back 2 different sets because the welding was so bad there were actual holes. The 3rd set I got didn't even fit ( I don't know if either of the first 2 sets would've fit or not ). When comparing 2 different sets of these headers back to back, they were completely different from one another. They obviously make no effort to make every set exact like they should( 'it's close enough, send it out!' ). When I sent my first set back due to the holes, I told them ( like I really need to be telling these guys this ) to make sure the next set is welded properly. Of course they claimed my first crappy set was a fluke ( 'this has never happened before!' ) and I will be sent a different set that is up to their 'usuall high standards'. Then when I got em they were worse than the first set!

Also I don't see how the flow can't be restricted in at least some way due to the huge Olds exhaust ports feeding into those little header ports. Would probably match up well with a swirport 307 head but nothing else. When I showed my Sandersons to a local high end custom header manufacturer, he said they were a poor design and he ( and his workers ) were 'not at all impressed'.

My opinion is, they're probably better than manifolds ( but not by much ) and you may or may not get a set that fits. You also may or may not get a set with holes in them.

What do you run for headers?

American Racing headers. They're the only headers on the market that are guarenteed to fit ( they just slide right in! ), not leak, give you proper ground clearance, and last. They will make more power than 'off the self' headers too ( how much is debatable ). Their only downfall is they're expensive. I say if you can't afford a set of ARH's, then save up some money until you can! They're worth the price. I look forward in seeing how well they work on my new engine which will be build with headers in mind.

Factory starter is not an issue but will make routing the exhaust a bit harder. I am sure there is 20 hp/tq over manifolds, they are that bad. The ported Thornton's you had, probably a handful. There is probably at least 10 hp/tq gain with your headers. How much ground clearance do you have? That is another issue with saggy, soft suspension and 14" rims.

I have tons of ground clearance. The ARH were truely designed and manufactured with everything in mind.

Rats!!! Looks like I'm going back with my original plan to make my own shorty headers from the photos of the FE3X factory concept set.
Without the reversion cones though. That's a shame about Sanderson, I had a set of SBC shorty for my H-body and they were of high quality. They outlasted 2 engines and the coating lasted 7yrs.

Summit now sells these headers. DoubleV has the worst luck I have ever seen buying products. I bought 3 sets, fit, looked and held up fine.
