I just acquired a beautiful 1985 442.
I'm in a large group and a couple of people are telling me my grill inserts are for a 1986? Also someone said that 85's didn't have the blinkers on the fender? Is there a place to research all the true factory variables with this kind of stuff.
Here's a picture of it. Tell me what you know. Thanks.

"Blinkers" on top of the fenders are part of the external lamp monitoring system. You should also see via the rear view mirror a little lamp pod just above the rear window. It was an option on the RWD Cutlass in 1985, including 442.

Those grilles are likely reproductions, which technically could be 1981 or 1986 grilles, although the black centers were found on 86 Salons/442s.

The 85 grilles should look like this.

Congrats, that is one hell of a pickup you got there
Thank you. I didn't build it. A professionally car guy/ drag racer did. He's putting some finishing touches to it and I should be bringing her home Friday or Saturday. Excited would be an understatement. Brand new drive train. Less than 400 miles. Built 6.0 LS bored 30 over with all the best of everything. Built turbo 350 with manual valve body. Set up with nitrous.
