I have an early '90s F body serpentine belt setup that I'd like to run on my '80 Malibu. The system that I have is set up for a vehicle that is equipped with A/C, and the Malibu isn't. I have a GM Performance Parts catalog here, and in the catalog, it lists serpentine belt conversion setups for cars with and without A/C. I know that you could get an idler pulley bracket that would take the place of an A.I.R. pump on the serpentine setup, and if my research is correct, the GM part number for the that idler pulley bracket is 10186167. In the GM Performance parts catalog, they break down the parts included in the non-A/C serpentine belt kit. The only part in that parts list that is listed as an "idler belt pulley bracket", is listed under the GM part number 10129569. The same part and part number is also listed in the parts list for the kit for cars that are equipped with A/C. Does anyone here know if that idler pulley bracket fits both the A/C and A.I.R. locations on the serpentine bracket that mounts the A/C compressor and the A.I.R. pump, or is there a different part number for the idler pulley bracket that takes the place of the A/C compressor? Thanks in adavance.
