Hello everyone i've just swapped to a 2004R Transmission and im looking to keep my Factory Shifter but im insure on how to correct the shift pattern, Would anyone know how to resolve this little issue?

By correcting shift pattern, are you referring to the shifter indicator? The only solution to that is finding a 4spd shifter plate from a mid 80's cutlass that had a 4spd trans. They are hard to find....
If you are using the original console shifter from your car, you will also need a 4spd shifter bracket that has an extra notch in it, a 2004r cable, and a 2004r cable bracket. Check w/Gbodyparts.com or Dixiemontecarlo.com for those....

Thank's William But what about if i just change the Detent Plate? Would that allow me to get all of my gears out of the transmission to the shifter?

Is this my mother? are you a principal? Judge?

Seriously, the detent plate will allow the shifter to move an extra notch, but if the cable isnt correct, it will bottom out before it can select 1st gear. ask me how I know....
