Running into a few headaches withy swap trying to locate a bracket for both my power steering pump and my alternator.
Everything I find seems to be for
Long water pumps.
Would it be easier to get a long water pump and pulleys? Or is it something common I could find at the pick n pull?

I appreciate any input I have included a few pictures of two power steering pumps

The long water pump would be the easier route since you're finding the brackets for that set up. But keep in mind that there are the '69 to about '75 water pump & alternator brackets (mounts at the water neck) & '76-'88 (mounts to the boss on the front of intake.)

If searching at a junkyard the long water pump will definitely be more common but aftermarket support for both long and short pumps are about equal regardless of it's a v-belt or serpentine style set up.

I run the long water pump and the bracket that flips the alternator over on the passenger side.

I can't find a pic with a small block, but, just like this :

You can make a mid mount alternator bracket by flipping over the bottom bracket (which will now be the top) and then using a universal alternator bracket that you cut down and then drill a mounting hole as your lower bracket.
I made my BBC brackets out of aluminum but I used this same concept for my set up.

I would pick one that will match whatever power steering pump and brackets you can secure. A stock replacement one is just fine.

The brackets just flip or invert the alternator:

This version gives you the option of using early style heads that do not have all the accessory bolt holes:

The alternator brackets are less than $50. I would advise you to secure a power steering pump and brackets from amother Chevy car or truck and use the matching waterpump. You can also secure the pulleys from the same donor. Avoid serpentine stuff, as most of it (except 86/87 only) the waterpump turns in reverse.

Nice old school gold Moroso valve covers by the way!
