Can anyone tell me how to take off and change the side markers for my 88 Cutlass Supreme Classic?

There's always this.

🙂

The nuts the factory used are thread-cutting nuts which slice into the plastic. If the plastic is brittle, they'll likely snap off, which sucks. I'm assuming you're working on the corner lights by the headlamps? Or the reflectors at the bottom of the front fenders? Those reflectors are hard as heck to find new and nobody repops those. But they do repop the lamps. Same lens, it's just that the difference between the "reflectors" used in 1987/88 were that the "+" shaped hole on the back isn't there. No hole in it. You could use a repop lamp from 81-86 in its place and block off the lamp hole, as the lens is exactly the same. Since the lamps were moved to outside the headlight on top, there was no longer a need for the lower side markers to be lit up.

You could also spray a little WD-40 or similar on the back of the nut/stud prior to starting and GO SLOW. It may help save the studs. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
