Hi Guys.

I've been trying to determine which lowering springs to use front and back of my 87 el camino.

So far i've picked up from the "G body performance book" that Hotchkis 1902 are good for G Bodies. But my cruck has a 8.5 10 bolt rearend, and is also longer in the back than typical g bodies due to the pickup bed.

Also, i have removed all AC and changed heads and intake for aluminum ones, meaning front end is lighter than normal.

Can any of you guys recommend any springs that give a 2 inch drop front, and 1or2 inch drop back?

The hotchkis are expensive, and if the dont really lower the car, cutting springs is not possible in the back. Cutting them also kidda defeats the purpose of buying them. Some places obline vendors even write air bags are a must for the rear. Ugh!

I wont be hauling loads with it. An occasinal engine or transmission perhaps. But for that i could just swap in tve current air springs and pump them to 80psi!

Please advice me. Im going crazy in moog charts. I've been searching threads here abd there for 2 days without really shedding any light on the issue:/

Thanks in advance.

Tim

Opgi has springs specifically for elcamino's. 1,2, and 3" springs. They also offer different springs for v8 and v6 models. Your motor now probably weighs closer to a v6 than a v8 with the aluminum heads and Intake and no ac.

DONE..

Dont know how well this will end up but
I have decided on Moog 5658 S10 spring to lower the front end without going soft.
Moog CC627 cargo coils for the rear. Car will have a slight rake, but should not be overly done. I was gonna lower it in the rear as well but changed my mind.
Bilstein HD shocks all around
F41 jounce bars and fender to radiator braces
Solid steering shaft
Energy suspension body bushings,
Moog Rubber control arm bushings
36mm hollow 1LE sway bar with poly bushings everywhere
F41 rear sway bar
DIY boxing of the lower control arms front and back
DIY Firewall to radiator bracing

Still looking for ls1 rear brakes, 2wd blazer brakes, and fast steering ratio f41 steering box

I will update you when i get the time to do the upgrades
