So I got a line on an 85 Grandprix with a bucket seat interior/floor shift today at a local scrapyard. I went to see the car and it is in no means mint condition, but the interior and interior trim piecies are in good shape, as well it has the front braces running between the rad saddle and fenders and a V-8 (I beleive a 305, but the block was painted blue which I thought denotes a Poncho mill). It also has what I think are the rallye wheels that could be revived. After talking to a guy at the scrap yard they dont have their vendors licence so they can't sell/giveaway ANYTHING from the car 🙁 So in a few days it will be fed into the shredder and gone forever 🙁/

I live in a town (Sault Ste Marie, ON) that has a fairly big steel mill. It has 2 natural gas blast furnaces, Direct Strip Production complex, cold rolling mill, slab caster, many coke ovens, and a blank stamping production mill. This company basically lives on the plant's back yard and they specalize strictly in producing shredded steel/iron for recycling, so they don't sell anything.

Sorry to hear that. 😢

For future reference... how to ID a pontiac mill.

Pontiacs have a different intake manifold design. In the picture above you can see the front coolant crossover (with the thermostat housing on it) appears to be seperate from the rest of the intake. You can also see UNDER the intake. Pontiacs use a valley pan under the intake, unlike a SBC, where the intake mates directly to the block.

The radiator hose always runs behind the alternator and over the front of the drivers side valve cover.

This pic does not show it, but the spark plugs are located above the exhaust ports on Pontiacs.

Also, look at all the bolts on the water pump. Not your typical 4 bolt chevy pump.

85 Grand Prix's did not come with Pontiac engines, so the only way that car would have had one is if someone put it there.

lol 'mill'. I haven't heard that in a long time. I thought I was the only person left who still used that term.
