I recently needed to get some used maple hardwood flooring from the Habitat from Humanity restore. I literally filled the back of my wagon up with the back seat down all the way to the ceiling. The weight of the wood was estimated at 1100 pounds. Although I could tell there was some weight back there when it came to steering, the car accelerated and ran as if there was nothing back there. So, yea, the 260 isn't all that peppy, but you can load it down and it still has the same lack of pep. I was pretty impressed, actually.

same lack of pep <<< that made me laugh . sh*t my old 305 if u put more then one other person in the car u could feel the lack of power .

I agree, when I first got my car and started reading up on the 260 I actually thought "why did I buy this car" even had guys say it would be unsafe to drive, lol. I have almost 3k miles on it and I love it! It runs great makes better power than a lot of others cars I've owned and gets better fuel mileage than my wife's ford edge. Biggest problem I think with motors in general is for the most part people don't know how to make a motor run correctly so they just put a bigger one in
