hi all.
I have a some questions.
1. in my Malibu engine 350 vortec L31,how much horsepower can I put nitrous (N2O) so that the engine does not fall apart?
2. anyone ever had a similar swap`s? for how long the vehicle to make 1/8 on stock?

Thanks!

I know a few people who been running a 125 shot on a stock motor. Ive talked to guys who say 150 max. Me personally would stick 125 or less.

I agree I would also stay at a 125 or less rating on a stock engine.

i have a 150 shot on my car. haven't used it yet and its been installed for about 3 years. haven't made it to the track.... rarely see the street always in project mode. motor has been built to use it. probably go with the other guys in saying 125 is as far as you want to go with a stock motor

In a nutshell and assuming you have a plate kit and some jet choices, put in the tune up for 100 (NOS is 47/53) make sure you have sufficient "running" fuel pressure. Make sure you have the correct type plugs. (Non projected nose like an Autolite AR134) Make a full "pass" and read your plugs. Tune accordingly. There are several videos online that you can view to further assist you. Remember, the power comes from the fuel, nitrous just enables you to burn more of it.

Hard to tell for sure. A few months ago my buddy had his Valient on the dyno with a bone stock motorhome 440 in it. It took 5 runs @6500 and a 200 shot to grenade the rearend but the engine and trans were fine after it. Im not telling you yours will hold but you never know 😀
