I know there will never be a manufacturer for these. To small demand. Sucks that there are so few power adders for olds motors. No supercharger kits. I would think someone would make one. I just saw an article in popular hot rodding that there making procharger brackets for amc motors. AMC before olds come on! i would think turbo headers would be the cheapest to make. I would make my own but i dont have the tools or time. I have some low compression engines that would love a turbo.

Yeah, that's pretty lame. Nothing against AMC, but there's no way building performance AMC motors is more popular/numerous than building an Olds.

I know I saw somewhere before there was a place that made/sold turbo exhaust manifolds for Olds so I know they're out there somewhere...

Yeah, I doubt they sold any because the things looked HIDEOUS! I think they had Ray Charles welding them.

It's really just a matter of buying a bunch of these:

and welding them up.

You can really use mild steel headers for this has the heat would burn the things up. When I was looking into this I was told that you either build them from the Schedule 40 pipe/weld els which would be as heavy as stock manifolds or if you wanted the lightweight of a set of header exhaust tubes, you need to use Inconel 625 which has properties similar to stainless steel.

The issue though is that the stuff is expensive! A 12x24 sheet, .035" thick is $398. If you wanted something that was thick enough for the exhaust flanges to be cut from it would cost over a $1000 just for the material.

Contact Mark Burton by looking up burtonmachine.

He'll make you a set.

Big Skippy's on Ebay is the one I was thinking of that makes the hideous looking manifolds. I guess if you just want to put a turbo on an Olds just to say you have a turbo then they might work fine but a stock exhaust manifold would flow better than these things.

I sold to a guy in Alberta, my ceramic center dump Sanderson's for a turbo project. He is just turning them upside down. They would be much more compact and flow better than those abortion's. Just a question of, if they will hold up. I sold them to a friend of Dave H on ROP.

If those were suspension parts then I'd say they're not bad looking, but as for exhaust? :puke:
I definitely give them points for trying but unless they're hiding something on the inside then they probably flow terribly.

I just dont want to go bankrupt having some made, i just wanted a cheap china turbo 6 run about 8lbs and have fun.
