Hello all. I finally got around to installing an 8.2" 67 Chevelle 10 bolt into my 81 Malibu today. I bought a used South Side Machine Conversion kit off of ebay. For those of you who have used this kit before, I have a few questions.

1. The coil springs were under a lot of tension when I reinstalled them. I was able to get them in with a pry bar, but it took
a lot more prying than when replacing them with the stick 7.5" It seems like the upper control arms with the conversion
kit is not allowing the rear end to drop down as much. It is not binding though.

2. The kit did not include the coil spring mounts, I am using the stock mounts. The springs are on an angle. Will this be
OK? They will not come out on their own, I know that.

These are the concerns I have at this point. I still have to run brake lines and install the backing plates, rear shoes, axles, etc. I have not measured pinion angle as stated in the instructions yet either. I would appreciate any help. thanks.

i installed a set of ssm lift bars and my springs fit fine however this was for a 7.5.in in a 81 elcamino i didnt care for the solid ride feel on the street so i replaced them with boxed stockers with new bushings hope this helps 8)

I too installed a 67 chevelle 10bolt in my monte but I used UMI upa's for such conversion. My only issue was I couldnt reuse my sway bar.
