How much does it cost for a cable on a pontiac grand lemans 1979 with a 305 4 barrel ??

I just ordered one today for my 84 monte. They could only get me a 2 piece unit, and its priced per piece. From the GM dealer it will cost me about $80. Kinda pricey I think, but I need it.

.

I have a cruise control, but not fonctionnal anymore. But how do I know if it 2 pices or 1 pieces ??

youll have a cable running from the speedo to the cruis control unit then youll have another one running for the unit to the trans

do they make a cable or something u can just bypass that whole unit
its ugly and basicly usless

Wrong cruise control unit. That's the diaphragm. What you are looking for is what I believe is called the transducer and on a G body built before 1984(?) it is mounted on the inner fenderwell on the driver's side. The cable comes out left of the throttle cable on the firewall, and a little higher up. Then a second cable runs from the transducer to the transmission's tailshaft, and is held in place by a small sheet metal piece that bolts to the trans crossmember with a 10mm bolt. It runs between the firewall and the fenderwell for a few inches and disappears there. Interestingly, my Olds never had cruise from the factory, but still has a 2 piece speedo cable from the factory, and my car would have read the vehicle speed off the VSS and did not have the seperate transducer unit under the hood.

but on my piece, there's a cabble sticking out, is it normal ? My problem is I don't have a speedometer working and there a grinding turning sound behind my speedometer
