Sport Mirror Question

Are the side sport mirrors the same between an 86-90 Caprice and Camaro and an 86-88 Monte SS?

From what I understand, the Camaro mirrors and the late Monte mirrors(87,88) are the same on the inside ( allowing the power option to transfer over from the Camaro). but the angle that the mirror mounts on the door is different, so you just can't swap them. I don't know about the Caprice mirrors, but I would suspect if they are the same dimensionally outside, they would still have a mounting issue.

camaro's will work.caprice ones will NOT.mounting pedestal is bigger and angled differently.

Here's a link to the thread that gave me my thoughts. Don't know why they were switching the guts if they could have just swapped the whole mirror? Maybe they didn't want to re-paint??
