SS Spoiler QUESTION "mounting studs"

Are the mounting studs in the SAME SPOT from year to year 83-88 "Stand up style" an "Lay down style" ? I have the "Lay down style" an id like to get a "Stand up style".I don't want to drill holes in the NEW trunk lid until i find out FOR SURE

The mounting stud locations are the same. I switched from the stand up style to the lay down style on my '84 SS. I used a spoiler from an '87 SS, and it fit onto the trunk lid of my '84 perfectly. Hope this helps.

ya, I didn't figure GM would change the mounts unless a FORD engineer had something to do with it. I could tell stories. Crossy
