starting an engine outside of the car

Ok, I have a remote starter switch with two leads. were do they go to fire up and engine out side of a vehicle?
Do I need more than the two leads? I know me and Beeter had one almost going but for the life of me can't remember what we did.

you should be able to get it started with a remote starter to get the starter to turn an dthen the distributor will need a 12v source, after that i believe that is all you should need along with some earplugs
