Steering Column Help

i just bought a 87 regal and im in need of a steering column, what i wanna know is what steering columns would work for it

One from any G body will work. Just make sure you get the correct one for the type of shifter your car has.

'82-'88 will work for your car.

X2. You need one with the correct style of shifter and wiper switch to be compatible. Also, if you have cruise control and intermittent wipers, you will want one from a car that shares these options. Remember too that there are tilt and non tilt columns. The tilt ones are typically on cars with lots of options.

Seeing as you are in Tampa ( I am in New Port Richey), LKQ/Copher's would be the first place I would try as they seem to have the most G bodies. However, I would try the Clearwater location first, then swing on down to Big Three U Pull It around the corner if they don't have it. I was at the Tampa (In Riverview off Causeway BLVD) yard last week after making a trip to IKEA, and they didn't really have any G bodies to speak of. I KNOW that Big 3 has some as I pulled some parts there a few weeks ago and they had a reasonable selection of G Bodies. It's a slower turnover yard than LKQ is, so they should still be there. (BTW, Big Three is the junkyard that is used in the Billie May's infomercial for the Dual Saw. He was a local here.)

I need to get one myself, as I am converting from column to floor shift. I haven't been able to go junkyarding. Getting the house ready for winter. It's been slim pickins at the yards these days.

BTW, woulkd one from a Jeep Cherokee work? All of those were floor shift vehicles and the earlier ones (up to about 95?) had the GM coulmn.

Yeah i went to the clearwater one and they had a brown cutlass there but steering column was gone, but they have 2 more getting ready to come out so ill make a trip again next weekend. the one i need is the tilt with shifter. I also went to the big 3 and they had 2 a regal and cutlass but both were stripped 🙁
