Folks,

I am still in search of the quarter window weatherstrip that has the stainless steel bead imbedded in it. I saw the 1972 El Camino weather strip in the Original Parts Group catalogue, and called them to inquire about it. I think it is too short to fit the Cutlass quarter window, which is larger than the El Camino's.

What does one do when this begins to leak? My weatherstrip is cracked, and my body man says we should not dismantle it until we have something to replace it with, otherwise, my car could be in the shop for awhile.

ANY help would be most appreciated, especially other makes of cars whose quarter molding might be the same. How about the Monte Carlo, or the Malibu?

Thanks in advance for any assistance! This has really been frustrating!!

Yeah-good luck-been there. I got lucky and found a car in a boneyard-just got in and had super clean 1/4 glass strips. I stripped the whole car pretty much. I needed the 2-dorr hardtop pieces which are different from the vinyl top Cutlasses. Whoever reproduces them accurately has a small gold mine on their hands!
