i have this 98 Plymouth breeze and i have been beating myself up for such a stupid mistake.

i noticed it was about time to change the transmission filter so i did it, replaced the fluid that i drained and all was fine. i drove it for a few days and I checked the trans dipstick and noticed it could have used just a little bit but was alright, well i put to much in accidentally. because it reads full HOT when its cold. i have not ran it since i noticed i put to much in.
my vehicle doesn't have a plug, i can only drop the pan.
so i guess my options are dropping the pan and getting a new gasket + fluid? or disconnecting the line to the radiator? not to sure what would be the bets thing to do.

Im not 100% sure on a plymouth breez but I know most transmissions have a vent tube that if it is over filled it will come out of there.

Look to see if you have one. How much more did you put in it?

That ^^ Sounds like a simple and ideal way to drain some of the fluid.

haynes manual said to pour 4 right in, then the 5th a little at a time. all together i probably have 4 ¾ in right now. I read that atf level has to be really precise. of course i read that on yahoo answers, but i believe it.

I will look for the vent tube

once a pan gasket like this has been sealed with bolts, it cannot be un-bolted then re used; correct?

i wouldnt reccomend it, but if ya get some rtv on both sides of the gasket, bolt it on and let it dry over night before ya fill it you should be ok.

get a pump with a long hose and remove fluid through dipstick

alright what i did was remove a hose to the radiator and had my potna turn the car on and i ran about a quart out. i think i didn't put to much at all. i didn't start after i added last time and i believe the fluid sat, because i but 1/2 a quart in now and it low 😳

any one have a car they want me 2 fix? lol

slightly overfilled (which is all you really did) is not a serious issue.
