Stupid Question: Where's My Fuel Filter?

Hi there, I have an 82 Cutlass 2-Door V6, and I can't seem to find a fuel filter anywhere. I've followed the lines from carburetor to fuel pump to fuel tank, back and forth and I couldn't find it. My crappy Chilton manual says it's "near the tank" but I can't seem to find anything. Any information is great, thanks

Only G bodys with TBI had the fuel filter near the tank stock, that was right in front of the tire on the inside of the frame rail. On yours follow the line up to the carb and it is inside the inlet to the carb. remove the fuel line from the carb and then unscrew the next section it will be inside there.
