Alright guys I pick up the 403 this week and will be doing the swap this summer. For those that missed it this is a 403 from a 77 olds delta 88 pace car I found in the scrap yard. It will be going into a 80 Olds Cutlass that currently has a Pontiac 301 in it, I have a second Olds with a Olds 350 in it if I need those mounts. Fairly certain both cars have th350s but I could be wrong both were originally diesels though both had engine swaps and I believe trans swapped as well I really need to id them. Will the stock 350 radiator cool the 403 or do I need something else? How about headers that will fit the engine and g body? Any issue with the hook up I should be aware of?

I am getting the engine complete with all accessories as well.

An Olds engine is a fairly easy swap. You'll need the frame pads and motor mounts for the Olds obviously. IIRC, the starters are both on the driver's side....so wiring won't be a pain. The fuel pumps are on opposite sides so you'll need to address that. The trans will bolt up. If the radiator is in good shape it will work. Chances are that 403 had a TH400 behind it, maybe not. I'd make sure the carb has the correct linkage for a TH350. Since the TH400 use an electric detent, most carbs don't have a provision for a kickdown cable that you'd need for a TH350. AND KEEP THE Q-JET! Don't make the mistake of throwing an Edlebrock or Holley on it. Q-jets are great carbs when running properly.

There are several makes of Olds headers for G-bodies but you get what you pay for. I like the Thornton manifolds myself. But I'm getting older and like reliability over the pain of headers.

Yeah the engine originally had a 400 behind it which I can always pickup for $200 later if I want. If the carb does not have the linkage can it be modified to add that or will I need to go to a whole new carb? I actually might have a couple old q jets in myy shop if I can scrounge parts and swap things around.
