Hey guys, i just picked up on a schweet deal on a 406 block, crank, forged pistons, aluminum AFR heads etc, here: http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicle ... Z167739588

but am looking to possibly sell the block, etc to a friend and use the heads on my current 350. If you know anything about a small block 400, they have these "steam holes" between the bores to keep the larger bored engine cool, and the AFR heads have these holes drilled as well. Does anyone know if i could use these heads on a 350 or will the blocked off steam holes cause a problem with the head gasket and what not?

you should be able to run those heads on your 350. Why dont you just build the 406? Theres no replacement for displacement. But I would ditch the gear drive. Unless money is a problem which is totally undertsandable I would build the 406.

That idea's been running through my mind too, that engine makes big numbers.. the only part of that that might not work is that the 400 is externally balanced, and i have a t-56 transmission, so flywheel for an internally balanced chev. Not sure if i could get the whole thing re-balanced internally or externally
