im looking to switch out my th200c and put in a 200-4r that do i have to change or have to buy to do the swap and is it worth it oh and it it true that the 200-4r drive shaft is like 1'' shorter but can some one tell me what i need i keep getting the run around

you'll need a crossmember from a 200r4 (86/87 monte ss for sure) car or and aftermarket one, as far as the drive shaft goes you can use on from a 200r4 car also, not sure of the length. then you will need the tv cable brackets, not sure if your car is bone stock, if not you can buy aftermarket ones at your local parts store. if so you may need them from a donor car the after market one may still work, at least it should hope this helps

You may also need the frame extension piece for the 2004r crossmember to bolt to. Need to deal with lock up too I think.
fwiw get an aftermarket dual exhaust crossmember if you can swing it, then you already have it for duals if you go that route. TV brackets are readily available via Summit or whoever.
Couple pics for visual...

Is it worth it? IMO, yes, I'm a big fan of OD

I dont know about the TC on the 200 but the TC on the 200r4 has to be wired in right to lock in otherwise the transmission will not work right and burn out prematurely. Theres three wires that need to be adressed, One is ground that goes to the brakes, one goes to the 4th gear switch and im not too sure of the rest. If you dont wire it up right you'll end up with only 3 gears that seem to 'slip' when you let off the gas.
