Hey guys,

Im wondering how those "L" shaped t-top plates come off? They have 3 or 4 small screws holding them in place. Will I have to pry them up using a screw driver? Are they 'snapped' into place?

Also what can I expect to find underneath on the headerpanel? thanks!

Lucky ques. I'm repairing my plates now . They have 2 inch wide 3m tape in the center and across the front side ledge there are about 1.5"x 1/4 "tabs bent at about 130 degrees angle . They insert in the header panel. The basic door panel removal tool is great for this ( the long handle bent fork ). It's about 7 or 8 tabs underneath 1.5"×1/4" in size almost. ..anything else just let me know.... on the header the left and right corners should have rust or rust holes ..but don't aggravate it unless u r ready to fix it ...or it will spread like cancer....

Thanks Tlonz,

OK, So you have to gently pry them off. They actually used 3m double sided tape to hold them in place?

Yes, from the front side first....If u need to make any small to medium repairs clean with a wire wheel from harbor freight that comes in the variety pack....oil base rustoleom from walmart protect well against rust ...dont use the aerosol can , use the paint can....and a brasing rod is great for filling small holes before u apply the rustoleom. The rustoleom is great for all the t-top metal for treatment.

Thanks. Will you be using paint thinner to remove the 3m adhesive and whatever glue residue remains?
