Tach hook up

Hello,
On my 84 SS, the original owner did away with the computer and the tach is unhooked.
It now has a Holley carb and a Mallory Unilite Electronic Ignition with a external coil.
Can I hook the tach up to this, if so where do I hook the tach wire to?

On your firewall look for the tach filter. It looks like a small capsule with a wire that I believe is brown that would have hooked to the original hei distributor. You would have to hook that to the external coil. Under the dash I believe the tach wire is white. Someone can correct me if im wrong, good luck with the tack.

I have the tach wire…just don’t know what to hook it to with this set up.

Check the Holley site to see if they have the hook up instructions in the Mallory or MSD catalogs.
