Yeah ,i just want to replace the clock with the tach. My clock doesn't work so i figured i would try the tach.

you need an extra clip that plugs into the back of the cluster.

the clock uses 2 clips, the tach uses 3. you will also have to move one of the existing clips. the holes should already be in the back. just look at the "prongs" on the back of the tach and you'll figure out which holes you'll be using.

you also need to locate the wire under the steering column and attach a wire to it and run it out to the coil. i believe its the only loose wire that runs to nothing. i ran it through the grommet for the throttle cable. use a female spade connector on the end and plug it in where it says tach.

also make sure you have the correct setting on the back of the tach as it can be used with V8 or V6 applications. i have to move mine for my V6. i also soldered mine in place since it wiggled loose and would sometimes stop working.

i got the clips that are behind the cluster. what color is the wire?

Thanks for the info. 😀 The car it came out from was a 8 cyl. is that what the little red plug is for?I will install it soon... hopefully it works......
