tachometer help please!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 1986 oldsmobile 307 v8, i need to know where the negative wire is on the distributor so i can run my aftermarket tachometer, if you could please post a pick thanks

If you're running a stock HEI distributor, you will see where a heavy red wire pugs into the top of the distributor cap. Next to where the red wire plugs in is another terminal (marked tach) which is where wire from your tachometer goes.
